Wood has always had great importance in human life. This can be felt even more by visiting the Museum of Ethnography by Certified Artisan. Here visitors can see a large collection of jack-planes for various purposes (you can also try them), a variety of other woodworking tools and stories about the craft and its interface with wood.
The purpose of the educational program
To acquaint the participants with traditional Lithuanian roofing craft, wood types and applications.
Activities: By participating you will learn about the wood, the species of wood from which shingles were made, or else the fiber. The craftsman will tell you about the peculiarities of roofing, the history of the roofing craft, and the uniqueness of shingle roofs. During the education you will manually make the fiber.
Duration of education: 1 hour.
Number of participants: Unlimited.
Place: Educational classes are held in various events in Lithuania. Craftsman prioritizes events where more like-minded craftsmen arrive.
Seasonality: All year round.
