Locality, where a homestead is, used to be as a center of Domantai village. Nearby, during pre-war times, there was a school, which has been burned in the war, after that – in Soviet times – it was a shop, known as “Kapkė“. 2 km away there is a best – known mound not only in Lithuania, but all over the world. Jurgaičiai (Domantai) mound, in other words - Šventkalnis, Maldavimai, Kryžių kalnas – considered to be as a sacred place. Near the homestead there is a cycling road carved, which is called “Milžinų takas“. While riding a bike you can admire not only Jurgačiai mound, but also beautiful hills of Aukštelkė and Bubiai. The homestead is formed from 4 separate buildings, preserving ethnic architecture: tavern, granary, bathhouse, double – ended traditional cottage, where the hosts live in one of the ends.
