A certified master of joinery, furniture making and spoon-making national heritage of Plungė district manufactures natural wood furniture and carvings from wooden tubers. He spreads his accumulated experience and conducts educational activities for anyone who wants to learn the art of carving. He involves children from social risk families and foster home children, and has trained about 200 pupils. The craftsman, through educational programs, believes in and endeavours to maintain the craft in the future.
The purpose of the educational program
To encourage young people to take over the experience, to instil a desire to know how to make unique items, to create a unique Lithuanian-like environment.
Activities: As part of your education, you will learn about examples of clogs, special carving tools, and wood used to carve clogs. The craftsman will demonstrate live the use of tools in carving clogs. Then in turns you will be able to try the technique of this craft yourself.
Duration of education: 4 – 6 hours.
Number of participants: 5 – 15 persons.
Place: At your agreed place with the craftsman.
Seasonality: All year round.
Languages: Lithuanian.
