While vacationing in Druskininkai, you can spend your leisure time meaningfully by visiting the Museum of Resistance and Deportation. The museum was established in 1966 thanks to the efforts of former deportees and political prisoners.
The exhibitions are rich with photographs, documents, periodicals, and artifacts. In the halls, you will learn about the armed resistance against Soviet rule in Lithuania, non-violent opposition, and the painful history of deportations.
The museum also provides insights into the partisan struggles in the Dainava region and the involvement of women in the partisan movement. Additionally, you can visit a memorial room dedicated to writer and translator A. Dambrauskas.
