The traditional craftswoman from Kaunas conducts an education on traditional egg waxing every year, one month before Easter. The artisan encourages the use of non-commercial paints and suggests using folk-tested tools.
The purpose of the educational program
To acquaint the participants of the education with the waxing traditions that used to be previously, as well as with the traditional Easter egg patterns, painting techniques and the meanings of the symbols.
Activities: Attending you will learn about plants that are suitable for dyeing eggs. During the education you will learn what colour plants mottle the shells and how to properly prepare the raw material. The artisan will discuss extensively the technique of waxing eggs. Later, a practical exercise will be held - waxing of eggs.
Duration of education: 3 hours.
Number of participants: 20 persons.
Place: At your agreed place with the craftsman.
Seasonality: before the Easter holiday.
