Ariogala

While relaxing in the Raseiniai district, visit one of the oldest settlements in Lithuania – Ariogala, first mentioned in written sources in the 13th century.

The settlement is located on the left bank of the Dubysa River. Descending into the valley, you can refresh yourself with spring water, believed to have miraculous powers. In the town, you can admire the parks of the Purvė or Čėkuva manor and forestry.

In the center of Ariogala stands St. Michael the Archangel Church, featuring elements of Neoclassicism and Neobaroque. After World War II, until 1948, the United Kęstutis District’s Vaidotas Battalion partisans operated in this area. A chapel was built in their memory, which hosts the "With Lithuania in Our Hearts" Freedom Fighters’ rally.
