Birstonas Museum of Sacral Art

When visiting Birštonas or its surroundings, don’t miss the chance to explore the Sacred Museum in the town, which will impress you with its exhibits and warm hospitality.

The museum building is modest yet adorned with ethnographic elements. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to Blessed Archbishop Teofilius Matulionis, who lived in the building from 1956 to 1958. Here, you can see not only his attributes but also personal items that bear witness to the years he spent in Soviet prison.

Additionally, the Birštonas Sacred Museum preserves valuable exhibits of history, religion, and art. The museum showcases high-quality sacred paintings and ritual vessels. The second floor hosts events and constantly changing art exhibitions.
