Fostering of Samogitian ethnocultural traditions

The producer of certified culinary heritage dishes in the village of Berzoras has accumulated a great baggage of knowledge and is proud of certification of popular Samogitian cuisine. This is a cold Samogitian soup – cibulyne (onion soup), herring in brine, hemp cracklings (spirgynė), kvass and kastinys, which is included in UNESCO. Together with her daughter, the producer leads the educational program for the cultivation of Samogitian ethno-cultural traditions.

Activities: getting acquainted with Samogitian traditions and dialect, tasting of dishes.

Duration: 2 hours

Languages: English, Russian, German.

Seasonality: there is no education in summer.

BREAD (BREWED RYE, BREWED WHEAT) AND OTHER PRODUCTS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS Bread Road with Feast and Mill Inspection. Duration - about 3 hours. Mill educational program with product tasting . Duration - about 1.5 hours Activities: observing the production of rye sifting, wheat wholemeal flour and rolled flour, grains, pancakes and bread. Tasting. The programs are being held in Lithuanian and Russian. Seasonality: all seasons.
