Kaunas Town Hall is the most important building in the city's main square. After Kaunas was granted Magdeburg Rights in 1408, the square became the heart of city life. Markets and fairs were held here, merchants conducted trade, and residents could witness judicial decisions being carried out.
The building's tower rises to 53 meters, making it the tallest structure in the Old Town. With its graceful blend of Gothic, Baroque, and Classicist styles, it has earned the nickname "The White Swan."
Today, the Town Hall hosts official events and wedding ceremonies. It also houses a branch of the Kaunas City Museum, where visitors can explore exhibitions on history, archaeology, science, art, culture, industry, as well as sound and video displays.
