Thunder House

While spending your holiday at one of the rural tourism homesteads in the Kaunas district, don't miss the opportunity to visit the temporary capital. Here, you can experience the true spirit of the Middle Ages by visiting one of the most valuable Gothic architectural monuments – the Perkūnas House.

It is believed that this house was once built by a wealthy townsman. However, one legend suggests that the building belonged to the Hanseatic merchants' organization. In the 17th century, when the Jesuit monks acquired the building, they established a chapel inside. After the monastery was closed, Perkūnas House was used for various purposes. To learn more about the history of Perkūnas House, join the theatrical tours or participate in workshops.
