The Tadas Ivanauskas Zoological Museum in Kaunas is one of the oldest museums in Lithuania and the only zoological museum in the Baltic region. Founded on July 15, 1919, the museum showcases a unique zoological collection initiated by the renowned naturalist Prof. Tadas Ivanauskas. The museum not only preserves a vast array of animal exhibits but also promotes nature education and ecological awareness.
Visitors can explore over 250,000 exhibits, featuring exceptional fauna collections from Lithuania and beyond. Special emphasis is placed on rare species and global conservation issues. The museum also hosts educational programs and activities tailored for both children and adults.
