Golden Ethno Tour – One Journey, Three Experiences
The Golden Ethno Tour is an experiential tourism route in the Vilnius region, combining nature, cultural heritage, local flavours, educational experiences and encounters with local people. The route was created through the cooperation of three neighbouring places: Džiaugsmo dirbtuvės (Joy Workshops), Briedžio sapnas (Moose Dream), and Geltoni botai family farm.
During the journey, visitors can explore various cultural and natural sites in the Vilnius region, take part in educational activities, taste local products and discover the traditions of the area. The route can be adapted for different groups, including families, school groups, corporate teams, communities, seniors, international visitors and active travellers.
Route highlights
Džiaugsmo dirbtuvės (Joy Workshops)
Located in Neris Regional Park, in an ethnographic village at the foot of the Naujoji Rėva hillfort, the workshops offer a gingerbread educational experience. Visitors discover the history of gingerbread and its journey from traditional recipes to modern techniques, taste gingerbreads with different flavours, and have the opportunity to decorate or bake their own gingerbread.
Briedžio sapnas (Moose Dream)
Surrounded by nature and old traditions, Briedžio sapnas offers a traditional food smoking experience. Visitors learn about Lithuanian meat-smoking traditions, spices and the entire smoking process. The experience includes a live demonstration, smoked meat tasting and herbal tea.
Geltoni botai Family Farm
At this family farm, visitors can learn about grape growing, berry and shiitake mushroom cultivation, seasonality and sustainable farming practices. The experience concludes with a tasting of products made at the farm.
The Golden Ethno Tour can be combined with a sightseeing tour of churches, hillforts and other historical sites in the Vilnius region. Groups can also choose nature trails and professional guide services. The programme and its duration can be adapted to the needs of each group.
The Golden Ethno Tour is more than a collection of individual activities – it is a full-day experience bringing together flavours, traditions, nature, cultural heritage and encounters with local people. The creators of the route aim to develop a joint tourism product representing local small businesses and to attract more visitors to the Vilnius region.
